Associate Professor of Film Studies

Scott Higgins teaches courses in film history, theory, and genre at Wesleyan University. He is recipient of Wesleyan’s Binswanger Prize for Excellence in Teaching. He published two books: Harnessing the Rainbow: Technicolor Aesthetics in the 1930s <> and Arnheim for Film and Media Studies


He is working on a third book about film serials from the 1930s and 1940s. His areas of specialization include aesthetics, silent and classical cinema, narrative theory, genre, and technology.
